‘Bread of Life’ Bakery

This Christmas, share the Bread of Life.

As Thanksgiving and Christmas draw near, many of us gather around warm kitchens, home-baked breads, and the people we love. Across the world, at Call of Hope’s center for the blind and disabled, something beautiful is rising in the oven: a new way to empower young people with disabilities and bless a hurting community.

Jesus fed the five thousand, gave sight to the blind, and healed those with disabilities. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, those once overlooked are now baking bread that nourishes bodies—and sharing the hope of Christ that heals hearts.

Training. Dignity. Hope.

The Bread of Life Bakery is training 135 young people with disabilities—ages 14 to 30—to master the art and trade of baking.

Each trainee learns professional skills from a Swiss Master Baker, this training opens the door to real employment, income, and self-worth. Through patient instruction, counseling, and personal guidance, these men and women discover not only how to make bread—but how to build a future!

In a loving, Christ-centered environment, our dedicated trainers teach practical skills while sharing the message of salvation in word and deed. Every kneaded loaf, every new recipe, every shared meal becomes a testimony to God’s transforming power.

More than training,

a ministry…

The Bakery doesn’t just train workers. It’s a holistic ministry that touches the community through the gift of bread and the Word of God.

Each parcel of bread distributed to families includes an evangelistic booklet with 25 key Bible verses and an invitation to local church meetings.

Many are reading—and responding. In their uncertainty and fear, they’re finding comfort, hope, and new life in Christ.

For a Fraction of a Feast, Feed a Community with Hope

During the Christmas season, the average American spends over $200 on food and festive treats.

For just a quarter of that, you can give a gift that truly lasts—a six-week bakery scholarship for a blind or disabled student.

Your gift provides ingredients, tools, and hands-on training from a master baker—empowering students to gain new skills, find meaningful work, and encounter the hope of Jesus Christ!

And the miracle doesn’t stop there. The bread these students bake is shared freely with struggling families, each loaf wrapped with a booklet of 25 Bible verses and an invitation to hear the Gospel. Many are reading—and responding—to Christ’s love.

For only $50, you can sponsor one student’s entire bakery course and bless an entire community with the Bread of Life.

"I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty"

—John 6:35

  • Hassan was born blind, but that hasn’t stopped him from discovering new purpose through Call of Hope’s bakery training center. With patient guidance, he learned to knead, shape, and bake—pulling his very first golden baguettes from the oven.

When his father arrived to pick him up, Hassan beamed, “Papa, I made these all by myself!”

Now Hassan visits the bakery every week, learning not only a trade but also hearing about the love of Jesus. On Palm Sunday, he sang loudly and joyfully in our parade, lifting his voice to praise Christ—the true Bread of Life.

Please pray that Hassan and his family will come to know Him personally.

  • Most of the children we care for come from strictly Muslim families, yet here they are learning about Jesus for the very first time. Recently, we visited a Hezbollah-run school to share bread from our Bread of Life bakery.

At first, armed guards refused to let us in. But when they saw little Abdul Noor, a blind six-year-old carrying a basket of bread, their hearts softened. They allowed the children to enter—and that day, many heard both the Word of God and received the Bread of Life.

Through these precious blind children, God is opening doors where none existed before.
