How Three Lebanese Soldiers Came to Christ Together

Lebanon’s soldiers are no strangers to uncertainty. Yet even as warnings echo through their barracks, God is quietly rewriting stories—one heart at a time.
Abdel: A Question Leads to a First Step
When new believers began appearing in Abdel’s neighborhood, the young soldier grew curious. Why would Muslims turn to Jesus? He slipped into a Call of Hope Sunday service just to listen. Week after week, the worship and teaching stirred something deeper. Months later, Abdel could no longer stand on the sidelines; he surrendered his life to Christ.
Gabir: Hope Breaks Through the Dark
Abdel’s closest friend, Gabir, had recently been paralyzed in a car accident. Pain and depression pressed in, and talk of Jesus only angered him.
“How dare you become a Christian!” he snapped.
Abdel answered with patience—and an invitation to meet our Frontline Workers. Gabir agreed to listen. As Scripture was shared, anger melted into tears. In time, he too placed his trust in Jesus. “I lost my legs,” Gabir says, “but Christ saved my whole life.”
Hakim: A Brother Follows the Light
Gabir’s dramatic change caught the eye of his brother Hakim, also a soldier and full-time caregiver. The despair that once clouded their home lifted—replaced by peace Hakim could not ignore. Soon he opened his own heart to the Savior who had rescued his brother.
Shoulder to Shoulder in Faith
Today these three men stand together—brothers in arms and in Christ—ready to serve their fellow soldiers as Lebanon faces mounting hardship. They study Scripture, pray for their unit, and share the good news that first reached Abdel in a humble church service.

Eighty-five percent of Lebanon’s people now live in dire need, but the Lord has planted lights inside the very ranks tasked with keeping order.
