More Than Transportation: A Life Saved, A Community Transformed

In the remote regions where Farmer Evangelists serve, distance is more than an inconvenience—it can be the difference between life and death.

Villages are spread far apart. Roads are rough. And in many cases, medical care is hours away on foot.

For Adan Kontoma Orma, a Farmer Evangelist serving faithfully in one of these regions, that reality became urgent one day when a call for help came from a distant homestead.

A heavily pregnant woman had gone into labor while tending livestock far from any medical facility. With no easy way to reach help and time running out, the situation quickly became critical.

But Adan had access to something that changed everything: a motorcycle.

He immediately set out across difficult terrain, navigating long stretches of rural roads to reach her. Without it, the journey would have taken many exhausting hours on foot—time they simply did not have.

Because of that motorcycle, he was able to transport the woman approximately 70 kilometers to the nearest health center.

Both mother and baby survived.

A few days later, Adan returned once again—this time to bring them safely home.

But what happened next was just as powerful as the rescue itself.

The community saw something in Adan that they had not seen before—not just a messenger, but a servant willing to act when it mattered most. Trust began to grow. Doors began to open. And young people in the village started drawing near, joining him in conversations, helping with ministry activities, and listening to the message of Jesus Christ.

What began as an emergency became a turning point for an entire community.

A motorcycle did not just help Adan travel.

It allowed him to serve.

And through that service, it opened hearts to the Gospel.

The Bigger Picture

Across rural Africa, many Farmer Evangelists face the same reality: long distances, difficult terrain, and communities that are often isolated from both medical care and spiritual encouragement.

Without transportation, their reach is limited. Their time is consumed by walking. And urgent needs can go unmet simply because help cannot arrive quickly enough.

But with a motorcycle, everything changes.

They can reach more villages. Respond to urgent needs faster. Carry ministry materials. And most importantly, be present when their communities need them most.

A Simple Way to Make a Lasting Impact
