A Dangerous Road. An Unshakable Calling.
For Yunis Abdi Huka, reaching remote villages in northern Kenya has never been easy.
Before receiving a motorcycle, Yunis walked more than 20 kilometers a day under the scorching sun, carrying as much as 30 kilograms of Christian literature on his back. Some days, he could reach only one or two villages. The long journeys left him with painful blisters and sores, but he continued because he knew the message he carried could bring hope to people who had little opportunity to hear about Jesus.
Yunis serves in an area where the threat of al-Shabaab remains very real. He knows the risks of traveling through remote and dangerous areas, yet he has remained committed to sharing Christ's love and the message of salvation.
His commitment has come at a tremendous personal cost.
Yunis's daughter, Amino, was killed as a warning to him to stop his ministry. But instead of turning back, Yunis became even more determined to continue the work God had given him.
Then, a motorcycle changed what was possible.
Today, Yunis can carry more than 120 kilograms of literature, four times what he was able to carry on his back. He can travel farther and reach four villages in a single day, with enough time to distribute literature, train others and recruit new correspondents.
The motorcycle has also helped Yunis reach villages he could not previously access.
"I am relieved from the pain and blisters on my back from carrying the heavy books," he shared.
But the impact goes beyond the distribution of Christian literature.
As Yunis travels between villages, he has opportunities to serve people in practical ways. When emergencies arise, he helps transport the sick to hospitals. He also assists elderly people who cannot walk long distances. Through these acts of service, the motorcycle has opened new doors for Yunis to build relationships and demonstrate the love of Christ.
What once limited his ministry has become an opportunity to reach even farther.
Yunis now serves in villages across the region, including Belgesh, Gafarsa, Merti, Garbatulla, Kina and Borji. He has also been able to travel beyond his original distribution area to places such as Sericho and Modogashe.
And he isn't planning to stop.
"I hope to reach many others since I am now able as I have transportation," Yunis said.

His story is a powerful reminder that sometimes a simple tool can have an extraordinary impact.
A motorcycle may seem like nothing more than a means of transportation. But for Yunis, it means more villages reached, more literature delivered, more people helped in times of need and more opportunities to share the hope of Jesus.
The road is still difficult. The work is still challenging. But Yunis keeps going.
And because of the support that provided from faithful givers like you, Yunis can go farther and reach more people with help and hope in Jesus name.
