In the Midst of War, Mothers Are Finding Hope

MINISTRY UPDATE

Lebanon is once again walking through one of the most painful seasons in its history.

War and rising tensions have brought fear, instability, and deep uncertainty. Today, nearly 1.5 million people are displaced within their own country—families forced from their homes, unsure of what tomorrow will bring, many lacking even the most basic necessities.

In the midst of this, our Lebanese directors, Touma and Dounia, continue to faithfully lead the work on the ground—serving families, encouraging the Church, and bringing the hope of Christ into some of the hardest places.

But the crisis goes beyond what can be seen.

There is growing tension within the country itself. Many feel that Lebanon is being pulled into conflicts that do not reflect the will of its people. Outside influence continues to shape the situation, and the sense of instability is only increasing. Stories circulating in recent days—of violence narrowly avoided and leaders targeted—reflect just how fragile and complex the situation has become.

There is a weariness across the nation.

People are tired. They long for peace, for dignity, and for a future that feels secure again.

And yet—this is not where the story ends.

In the middle of all this, the Church is still present.
And every day, ministry continues.

Families who have lost everything are being cared for. Food is being distributed. Shelter, mattresses, blankets, rent assistance, and medical care are reaching those who need it most. These are not just acts of relief—they are reminders that people have not been forgotten.

And alongside these physical needs, something deeper is happening.

The message of peace through Jesus Christ is being shared with those whose hearts are searching. Prayer is being offered. Hope is being restored, quietly and steadily, even in the middle of uncertainty.

Caring for Mothers

Recently, in the towns of Zahle and Ain Kfarzabad, two special outreach gatherings were held for mothers.

In a time marked by fear and instability, nearly 350 women came—about 200 in Zahle and 150 in Ain Kfarzabad. This alone speaks volumes. Many of these women come from Muslim backgrounds, making their presence even more meaningful. They came not only for support, but because something deeper is drawing them.

Each mother was welcomed with care. They received food, thoughtful gifts, and resources—including books and copies of the New Testament. But more than that, they experienced something many have been missing: a place of dignity, warmth, and connection.

During these gatherings, Dounia shared a powerful message about motherhood—one rooted in faith.

She spoke about what it means to be a mother who leads from a place of knowing Christ. She shared that true strength in the home begins with a personal relationship with Jesus—that faith is not just taught, but lived out daily, especially in front of children and family.

The response was deeply moving.

Many women expressed sincere gratitude—not just for what they received physically, but for the encouragement and truth they heard. In a season filled with fear, these moments became a place of renewal.

Seeds were planted.

And we trust they will bear fruit in ways we may not yet fully see.

As this work continues, your prayers matter more than ever.

Please pray for the families who have been displaced—that they would find protection, provision, and peace.
Pray for open hearts—that many would come to know Jesus Christ as their true hope.
Pray for strength—for Touma, Dounia, and the entire ministry team serving tirelessly each day.
Pray for provision—that resources, support, and help would continue to meet the growing need.
And pray for lasting faith—that those who encounter Christ would remain steadfast and rooted in Him.

Even now, in the middle of conflict and uncertainty, God is at work.

Light is still breaking through the darkness.
