Touched by the Love of Jesus: Rabiaa’s Story from Lebanon
Despite the ongoing hardship in Lebanon, our teams continue to travel, serve, and share the hope of Christ with those in need.
As families are displaced and uncertainty grows, many are coming simply looking for help—food, shelter, or a place to rest. But in these moments, something deeper is happening. Hearts are opening.
Rabiaa was one of them.
A refugee from Aleppo, Syria, she first came to one of our gatherings because she needed food. Like so many others, she had reached a point where she no longer knew how to provide for her family. As she waited, she listened quietly while a message was shared. That day, she heard these words from John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Something in her heart shifted.
She began returning—first for help, but soon for something more. Over time, Rabiaa came to believe in Jesus Christ… and was baptized—a decision that marked a completely new beginning in her life.
A Costly Decision
Earlier this year, her mother came to visit. During a simple moment at home, her mother confronted her about her faith in Jesus. Before Rabiaa could respond, her mother took a pot of hot coffee and poured it over her leg. As Rabiaa cried out in pain, her mother cursed her and rejected her completely because of her faith.
Today, Rabiaa is still recovering from her injuries.
Yet even in the midst of suffering, her faith has not wavered.
“I am a child of God,” she says. “And I want to live for Him.”
Faith That Endures
With quiet boldness, she continues to share her faith with others, inviting friends and other refugees to come and hear about Jesus.
Recently, a respected religious leader came to visit her, hoping to persuade her to return to her former beliefs. During their conversation, her eleven-year-old son Ahmed spoke up and asked a simple question:
“When you die, where will you go?”
The man answered honestly—he did not know.
Ahmed responded with a confidence that could only come from faith:
“My mother and I know. We will be with Jesus.”
In the middle of uncertainty and hardship, this young boy spoke with a hope that is not shaken by circumstances.
Hope in the Midst of Crisis
Rabiaa’s story is not the only one.
Right now, our teams are serving growing numbers of displaced families across Lebanon—many of whom are living without shelter, struggling to find food, and searching for hope. Each day, practical needs are being met through food distribution, care for the vulnerable, and support for those who have lost everything.
At the same time, the message of Christ is being shared—through conversations, prayer, and simple acts of compassion. And people are responding.
As we continue through this Easter season, we are reminded that hope often meets people in their most difficult moments.
Rabiaa came looking for food—but found something far greater.
If you would like to be part of bringing both practical help and lasting hope to families in Lebanon, we invite you to give toward ongoing relief and outreach efforts.
Your support is helping reach people in their time of greatest need—with both compassion and the message of Christ.
